Ceramics
The works presented here were created mostly between 1995 and 2001 and were produced in small series. Fascinated by the visually appealing disposable products and packaging that surrounded me daily, the idea emerged to lift them out of their anonymous incidentalness by translating them into noble materials and recontextualizing them, in order to strikingly showcase their aesthetic beauty.
Thus, I transferred not only mass-produced paper plates and vending machine cups, as well as Coca-Cola glasses and mustard jars, into high-quality porcelain products, but also PET beverage bottles or garden gnomes and the Michelin Man made of plastic. The latter I additionally equipped with new functions.
